Not every activity requires a rocket scientist. What high school graduate would fit into apparel production?
Activities sometimes need physical pushing around, carrying things (not heavy things of course), setting timing cycles for washing and drying, packing boxes efficiently, loading trucks efficiently, cleaning activity (once in a while even the executives should show up and sweep the floor - remember the "managing by walking around" principle.
These employees must show up on time and work effectively and cooperatively throughout the day.
I'd like to see them as a racing team member or being a community volunteer, and certainly being a good family member.
If shop were ever considered a necessity for high school graduation all levels of employees would be better off. Having a wide variety of shop and hands-on classes would make employment far easier for the companies.
These are not minimum wage jobs, rather solidly middle class opportunities for the right high school graduate.
